RWS safety vests meet the guidelines of Rijkswaterstaat and are easy to put on over work clothing. The RWS vests are mainly used in traffic to stand out in dangerous situations (in the dark). For example, when working on the track, on the road surface or during traffic controls.
Rijkswaterstaat uses the European standard EN-20471, which focuses on high visibility of clothing. Important for this standard is that a minimum amount of fluorescent material is used for the clothing and that the required reflective material is present. By using this extra reflective material in the “H-shape” visibility is increased, making it safer to work in the dark or in fog and smoke.
