The Plum eye wash contains a sterile sodium chloride solution (0.9%), which corresponds to the natural salt content of the eye. This prevents the entry of germs and bacteria that can lead to infections in the eye. Rinsing with non-sterile liquids (e.g., tap water) does not guarantee this.
In cases of injuries caused by metal or wood splinters, dust, and dirt, time is also an important factor. By quickly using the eye wash solution, harmful particles can be prevented from remaining in the eye, thus averting severe eye damage.
