Description
Most casualties in a fire result from inhaling smoke. The toxic smoke released during a fire decreases the oxygen level in the air and increases the concentration of carbon monoxide.
As a result, you could lose consciousness within a few minutes.
Smoke detectors alert you in case of a fire and are therefore truly vital!
In a residential house, a standard optical smoke detector is usually sufficient. This detects smoke using a light-sensitive cell, as soon as the smoke enters the light beam emitted by the smoke detector. Regularly test whether the detector is still functioning. Each smoke detector has a test button for this purpose.
The optical smoke detector comes with batteries included.
As of July 1, 2022, a smoke detector is mandatory on every floor of a residence.
