Description
The Lyme disease can cause conditions affecting the skin, glands, heart, joints, and the nervous system. Research has shown that Lyme disease is caused by a tick bite. Experts have established that the bacteria can enter the bloodstream 2 to 4 hours after the tick has attached itself. The tick must therefore always be removed as soon as possible. A preventive medication is not available, but early detection of the disease can lead to a cure in some cases with an antibiotic course.
It is an outdated idea that ticks can be removed with a bit of alcohol, oil, butter, or a greasy ointment. The use of a regular tweezer is also highly discouraged.
Ticks must be removed in their entirety. The most suitable instrument for tick removal is a tick tweezer.
Instructions for use
• Open the tweezer and place the jaws over the tick
• Release the button
• Turn the tweezer a quarter turn to the left and pull the tick out in a rotating motion
