Description
A fire blanket is a type of blanket that can be laid over a fire to extinguish it at an early stage. The material is made of woven fiberglass, which is highly resistant to burning. By depriving the fire of oxygen, the blanket smothers the flames. A fire blanket is suitable for extinguishing a small fire up to the size of a soccer ball or for putting out a clothing fire.
For a fryer fire (also known as an oil and fat fire or flame in the pan), a fire blanket is not a suitable extinguishing agent!
Instructions for use
• Pull the fire blanket out of the bag by the straps
• Hold the fire blanket by the straps in front of your body for protection against the flames
• Lay the fire blanket over the fire source and leave it there until the fire is out.
• Replace the fire blanket after use.
